Sailboats, rowboats, nautical craftsmen and artists, flags and bunting, varnished wood, polished brass, sea shanties, jazz bands, food and drink. Some are big-money races where the spectacle is the start and finish lines, and visiting kayakers may need to keep their distance when afloat.
